Meet Paige West, Current MPP Student

Program and area of focus: Public Policy; either Food and Ag or Sustainability and the environment

Where are you from: Reading, PA

Where do you live: Currently Reading, hoping to move closer to DelVal!

Where did you earn your bachelors and what did you study?

McDaniel College; I majored in Philosophy and Political Science with a specialization in international studies and minored in environmental studies.

What did you enjoy most about this experience?

Being a part of the Green Terror field hockey team and spending a semester abroad in Budapest, Hungary.

What made you decide to attend the MPP program at Del Val?

Given the opportunity as the field hockey GA here at DelVal, I am able to pursue my graduate work while continuing my involvement with the sport I love!

Has your career path inspired you to pursue further education? Or are you currently working in your desired field?

I recently graduated in May 2019, and this opportunity arose which influenced the path that I am currently pursuing.

What do you plan to do after Del Val and/or what would be your ideal job?

I don’t have an ideal dream job, but I would love to work for a nonprofit focusing on food and environmental justice.

Best part of graduate school so far:

The community evolving with my fellow classmates and colleagues!

What are some of your hobbies/what do you like to do for fun outside of school?

I love searching for new coffee shops to get my study on and planning little adventures/trips with my college friends, and family!

What is your favorite vegetable to eat or grow?
